A easy way to see if a tower is near you is to use Sprint's own coverage maps.
Enter your address and zoom about half way in your location.
Look at the Voice Coverage map. The areas shaded in Dark Green are where the signal is the strongest and thus where the tower is. I have driven to every one of the locations on the map shown and the tower corresponds exactly.
You can then switch to the Data map and have an idea where the EVDO coverage will be the strongest. Orientate the modem or point your antenna accordingly.
